Diane E. Slavonik of Southold died at her home on July 21, 2014. The life-long North Fork resident was 70 years old.
She was born in Greenport on October 8, 1943 to Adelaide and Robert Sayre, Sr. and was a graduate of Cutchogue East Elementary School and Southold High School
On May 4, 1963, she married Joseph Leo Slavonik. She had been a prior owner of the Cutchogue Diner and more recently worked at Braun’s Seafood in Cutchogue.
Surviving are her husband Joe; four children: Janice L. Foglia of Southold, Diane L. MacCulley of Aquebogue, Joseph L. Slavonik, Jr. of Maryland and Robert J. Slavonik of Commack; two brothers: Robert Sayre of Cutchogue and Donald Sayre of Southold and three grandchildren: TJ Hingle, Michael J. Hingle and Jennifer L. Smither.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Fork Animal Welfare League.
