George W. Wurtz, of Calverton, died August 18, 2014. He was 84 years old.
He was born July 15, 1930 in Franklin Square to George and Mary Wurtz.
He worked as a cable splicer for LILCO for 42 years. On his off time he enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survived by his wife Mildred, and children Kevin, George, Richard, Kathleen and Thomas, he leaves behind 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLauglin Heppner Funeral Home, 336 Marcy Avenue, Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 23 at 12 noon at St. Isidore’s Church R.C. Church, the Rev. Robert Kuznik officiating.
