Southold Town bay constables netted over 40 fishermen for taking undersized and out of season fish on Sunday, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the bay constables conducted checks on Long Island Sound beaches from Mattituck to Orient on Sunday between 6 a.m. and noon.
A check of over 60 fisherman resulted in the removal of 40 individuals from Sound beaches along with 14 summons issued for various New York State Environmental Conservation Law violations, police said.
