Southold Town police and fire department officials rushed to Goldsmith Inlet in Peconic on Thursday morning to rescue a fisherman who’d injured his leg on the jetty.
A call came in to Southold Town police at approximately 10:30 a.m., police said; a woman near the scene said she’d heard a man yelling for help.
Officials at the scene said they did not believe the man’s leg was broken; an ambulance was ready to take him for treatment.
